SSMD Ayurveda College and Hospital has been established by Mr. M.D.Jindal and his father Mr. Hari Chand Jindal. The foundation stone of the hospital was laid on 2 nd April 1972 by Dr. G. S. Dhillon, Speaker, Parliament of India. The most fortunate thing is that the hospital was inaugurated by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba himself. The gracious visit of Baba ji on 15.03.1973 is in response to the silent prayers of millions of devotees of Moga area. The miraculous cures of incurable diseases have awakened deep faith in the hearts of the people all over the Punjab. The first batch of college was initiated in the year of 1983.
The college is permanently recognized by Govt. of Punjab, Central Council of Indian Medicine New Delhi and affiliated with Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur (Punjab).
